Snuggling and cuddling and loving and protecting and safeguarding and claiming, all rolled into one. There is an element of intimacy, earnestness and ownership in this Welsh word (recently adopted into the OED) that the closest English equivalents, “cuddle”, “snuggle” and “hug” lack.

Testimonials

A lovely cottage, owners very helpful very nice and well equipped, in an ideal quiet location yet close to West Wales coast with its lovely dog friendly beaches and nice villages.

Mr Fanthorpe

The cottage was beautiful and well equipped. The garden is a generous size with lovely apple tree and plenty of lawn for dogs to play. Sammy and John were more than helpful and went out of their way to ensure we were happy and comfortable with the accommodation. The local pub is great and serves fantastic food and drink and is dog friendly. The local shop sells most things and are friendly. Poppit sands is about half hour drive and is stunning. We also enjoyed Penbryn beach. Nice coastal walk from the Ship Inn pub at Tresaith too. Good pub. Lots to do and hope to go back.

Mrs Betteridge

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Cozy Cwtch Cottage. It has been a fantastic week with the cottage being a great base for exploring the area. The property is well maintained and has a lovely lawned garden for sitting out in the sun. The exterior photos viewed online do not do this cottage justice. It is equipped with everything you need and is very peaceful and relaxing. There is a post office/ shop open 7am to 7pm daily within in 5 minutes walk which is across the road from the Daffodil pub. Dogs are welcome in the Daffodil which features outside decking overlooking the valley and a restaurant serving delicious food at lunch time and in the evening. I would definitely recommend the Cozy Cwtch Cottage. I star find amongst the many listed cottages in Cardigan.

The cottage was spacious yet comfortably cozy. The large dog friendly garden was a huge bonus. Well situated to visit the Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire coasts.

Mrs Grant

The cottage was beautiful and far exceeded our expectations. The surrounding area is stunning with lots of walks to enjoy. The owners were fantastic and couldn’t do enough to ensure we had a wonderful holiday.

Eating Out

The Daffodil Inn is Less Than 5 Minutes Withing Walking Distance

Hugh & Gill Matthews took ownership of The Daffodil Inn in June 2014, following retirement from their previous professions within Thames Valley – Hugh a retired police officer and Gill a nurse. Both are delighted to have returned to Gill’s Welsh roots where, having been raised in Pembrokeshire, her parents and extended family remain.

The Daffodil Inn is a food-led country pub in the pretty village of Penrhiwllan, conveniently located between Newquay beach and Llandysul canoeing centre, near many scenic drives, cycling routes and country walks.

Food at The Daffodil is freshly prepared and cooked using the best quality local produce wherever possible.  ‘Bar Meals’, available to guests eating in the bar, or on our outdoor decking overlooking the valley.  Alternatively indulge yourself with a full restaurant experience with an open view of our gallery kitchen, or just enjoy a drink in the bar, snug, decking or lounge areas, where log burners will be lit during cold spells.

Well-behaved dogs on leads are very welcome in the bar or on the decking dining area.

If you’re making a special trip to The Daffodil, we suggest pre-booking to ensure table availability.  Just drop us an email (info@thedaffodilinn.co.uk) or give us a ring (01559 370343).
